Carbonation problem
Every batch finishes differently
Same recipe, same settings, different result. Variation usually comes from conditions that change while the settings stay the same.
What you are seeing
Carbonation varies from batch to batch even with the same target. The team spends time testing and adjusting, and results depend on who ran the tank.
Likely causes
- Product temperature differs from one batch to the next.
- Manual routines vary between operators and shifts.
- Starting dissolved CO2 differs, for example after a natural fermentation.
- Stone condition changes between cleanings.
- Regulator drift or slow leaks.
Checks to run first
- Log product temperature, pressure and time for every batch.
- Measure starting and finished CO2 with the same calibrated method each time.
- Write the routine down so every operator runs it the same way.
- Test the stone's wetting pressure periodically and note any change.
- Check regulators against a reference gauge.
FizzWizz tracks pressure and temperature continuously and runs the same control routine every time. Normal mode is for product starting relatively still; Top-Up mode is for product that already holds some CO2. Batch naming and volume entry give every run a repeatable starting point.
Consistent control will not hide a fouling stone, a leak or product that is changing in the tank. Confirm final carbonation with a calibrated meter.
When to get help
If you have logged a few batches and cannot see the pattern, send us what you have. Variation is easier to diagnose with numbers.
